In 2018 and 2019 we were sponsors of Cumbria Action for Sustainability (CAFS) Green Build Week. In 2018 we provided a talk to homeowners, architects and other building professionals about our work to improve the energy efficiency of existing buildings fro our clients. CAFS is a charity established to provide independent advice and services to help people in Cumbria lead more sustainable lives and off set the affects of climate change within our communities. In 2019 we hosted a screening of the film “The Age of Stupid” at the Alhambra Cinema in Keswick and chaired an after film panel that included local councillors, MEP and parliamentary candidates from different political parties.
We are business club sponsors of the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal . The Brewery is a charity that provides some of the best cultural activity in Kendal and an important part of the town’s identity hosting popular international festivals, such as the Kendal Mountain Festival and the Lakes International Comic Art Festival, throughout the year.
We have entered the International Comic Art Festival Windows Trail every year since 2017 and have won the People’s choice award twice for best window twice with our window displays Moons, 2017 with Seaside School, and Avengers Re-Assemble, 2018 with Castle Park School. We worked with the schools providing creative workshops for school hours lessons and after school clubs to engage children in the design process. The window displays were at the Brewery Arts Centre and at our own Office at the Mintworks in Kendal.
In 2018 partner Simon Blunden raised over £5000 for Muscular Dystrophy UK medical research by getting sponsorship for a year long challenge to run everyday. He ran an average of 10k a day throughout the year. As a practice we also donated our design services for a family adapting their home to accommodate the future needs of their son who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
We are sponsors of The Alhambra Cinema in Keswick, a truly independent family run cinema in the centre of Keswick. In 2019 the Cinema underwent an ambitious re-decoration plan to restore some of the original features.
