Our approach and working practices

At Miller Clear Architects we believe in an architecture which responds to its site and context and is appropriate to the way we live in the 21st century. We believe that a well designed building should reflect and enhance the lives of those who use it. We aim to provide a friendly, personal service where we work closely with each client.

We have a particular interest in developing pragmatic and design led approaches to sustainable building that are accessible to a greater number of people who want to develop their homes.

Improving the energy efficiency of existing buildings for our clients is a priority and with new buildings we encourage clients to aim for the most energy efficient approach to construction.

A traditional Lakeland barn and 1960s bungalow can both be developed to provide more energy efficient and comfortable environments.  Both require careful analysis and development of a tailored approach to planning the most appropriate measures to improve the overall energy efficiency of the building.

We consult widely with other professionals, many operating locally. We have built up good connections with some excellent consultants and suppliers working to make a green approach to building and renovation more accessible to home owners and small businesses.
